The accident happened in February 2024, singer Dam Vinh Hung went to the US to perform and attend a party at the house of singer Bich Tuyen and her husband.
While singing, Dam Vinh Hung accidentally jumped into a fountain, resulting in a serious injury and the amputation of several toes.
2024 is a year of many events for Dam Vinh Hung. The lawsuit against singer Bich Tuyen and her husband took place at a time when he was banned from performing.
In May, singer Dam Vinh Hung held a live show called “The Day You Light the Stars” in Ho Chi Minh City. During the show, Dam Vinh Hung wore an outfit by designer Tuan Tran, with “strange” emblems on it.
Immediately after the show, Dam Vinh Hung's costume caused controversy, with many opinions saying that these badges contained sensitive messages related to history.
On July 10, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued an administrative penalty decision with a fine of 27.5 million VND and suspended performing activities for 9 months.
According to the conclusion of the Arts Council of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, in the art performance program with the theme "The Day You Light the Stars", singer Dam Vinh Hung used a costume with accessories attached to the chest to perform in front of the audience, contrary to traditional customs and practices; negatively affecting social psychology.
Because he was banned from performing, Dam Vinh Hung had to cancel a series of shows in Vietnam and abroad that were previously scheduled.
In August, the male singer said that he was used as an identity by bad guys to carry out bad intentions. He was complacent because he was scammed out of more than 200 million VND.
Dam Vinh Hung shared the incident on his personal page: "They pretended to be District 10 Police and called me to help with identification. They required me to use a phone with Android operating system because the State system is synchronized like that. Then, they used the mode to scan my face through an application and I lost more than 200 million VND."
In addition, the biographical film project about Dam Vinh Hung's life called "Glorious Glory" is expected to be released in 2024. However, until now, the project has remained quiet, with no movement despite a previous noisy press conference.
