The information was announced by Mr. Huynh Van Chuong - Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), at the training conference on Regulations and professional skills to organize the 2025 high school graduation exam on the morning of January 3 in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Mr. Chuong, this year's high school graduation exam is organized for students according to the 2018 General Education Program and students according to the 2006 General Education Program.
In particular, for students taking the exam under the 2006 General Education Program, the Departments of Education and Training must organize some separate exam scores for these candidates.
The organization model, organization method, and exam subjects will remain stable as in 2024. "If there is only 1 candidate participating, the province must also organize 1 separate exam location. The remaining points are reserved for students taking the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program, Mr. Chuong emphasized.
According to Mr. Chuong, this year's high school graduation exam will have some new points such as only 3 exams left, a decrease of 1 session compared to last year.
The exam is issued in the direction of competency assessment, with new subjects according to the 2018 General Education Program, Literature subject can use materials other than textbooks.
The exam promotes digital transformation with 100% of candidates able to register to take the exam online. This exam increases the use of process assessment results in the recognition of high school graduation (from 30% to 50%).
In addition, this year there will also be changes in certificates and encouragement points for Foreign Languages, Vietnamese, and vocational certificates. Accordingly, candidates with a foreign language certificate are exempted from the foreign language test, and foreigners with a Vietnamese certificate are exempted from the Literature exam.
However, it is not converted to a score of 10 in the consideration of high school graduation recognition, only reducing the exam subject with the certificate requirement to be valid until June 25, 2025.
In the work of arranging exam rooms, candidates will be arranged in exam rooms according to optional exams. In one exam room, many different subjects can be taken at the same time, so the number of exam rooms will increase compared to before because candidates register for many different subject combinations.
For the Geography exam, candidates will no longer be able to use Atlat, the year before this exam, candidates were able to use Atlat.
The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26-27. The exam results will be announced on July 16.
The exam is expected to have more than 1.1 million candidates participating, not including independent candidates. For freelance candidates, candidates can choose to take the exam according to the 2006 General Education Program or the 2018 Program.
