On January 22, Dak Lak Provincial Police informed that the Economic Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police had successfully cracked down on a large-scale fake fertilizer production case that was consumed in many provinces and cities, seizing thousands of tons of fake fertilizer.
During the investigation, the police arrested the couple Bui Minh Chanh (42 years old) and Nguyen Thi Cam My (41 years old) for establishing many companies to produce and distribute fake fertilizers.
In 2022, Nguyen Thi Cam My participated in the contest "Shining the beauty of Binh Dinh women: Graceful - Brave - Talented" organized by the Binh Dinh Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Association in coordination with the Binh Dinh Provincial Women's Union.
In the competition, Ms. Cam My surpassed 20 contestants to reach the final round and won the highest prize of this competition - the Gold prize.

In 2023, the subjects produced and sold over 13,000 tons of fake fertilizers into the market; in 2024 over 16,000 tons; in the first 8 days of January 2025, 501 tons of fake fertilizers were smuggled.
The couple confessed that in order to reduce input costs, compete on market prices and increase profits, they produced substandard fertilizers. The fertilizer production was done according to a proprietary formula.
