“Bù nhìn bóng đêm” currently only has 4 episodes left before closing. The film revolves around Kang Tae Joo (Park Hae Soo) - a police officer investigating a series of murders and forced to cooperate with Cha Si Young (Lee Hee Joon) - the prosecutor he hates to track down the truth that lasted from 1988 to 2019.
Before the final stage, there are 3 points of the work that attract attention. The first is the mystery named "12+2". In the current storyline, Tae Joo discovers that the perpetrator Lee Yong Woo is actually Lee Ki Hwan, making the case from years ago even more unpredictable.
At the same time, Kang Soon Young - Tae Joo's younger sister's discovery of Hye Jin's disappearance in 1988 also raises many new suspicions related to the "12+2" series of murders. This is considered an important knot connecting the past and present of the film.
The second noteworthy point is the fate of Im Seok Man - who became the next victim of a wrong investigation after Lee Ki Beom - Lee Ki Hwan's younger brother.
After being arrested, Seok Man continued to give false testimony under the brutal investigation pressure from the police. Even his family turned their backs on him after being labeled as a serial killer. Notably, prosecutor Cha Si Young also requested the death penalty for this character.
The final point is the increasingly tense relationship between Tae Joo and Si Young. In the previous episode, Tae Joo was angry when he witnessed many people coming to mourn Si Young's mother, while the memorial service for Ki Beom - who died unjustly after the wrongful investigation - was almost forgotten.
The conflict escalated when Tae Joo caused chaos at the funeral home and was retaliated against by Si Young with an accusation of assault. After the incident, he was transferred to another job and declared that he would "destroy" Si Young.
The new images released by the producer also reveal the trial of Seok Man in a heavy atmosphere. Tae Joo's appearance on the witness stand made the audience curious, especially when he was the one who directly arrested Seok Man before.
At the end of the most recent episode, police officer Kang discovers a new body and realizes that the serial killing may not be over yet. This confirms Seok Man is wronged, and leads to the exposure of the entire previous illegal investigation.
The next episode of "Dark Scarecrow" airs on the evening of May 18.
