The total accumulated audience of the film currently reaches 15.03 million tickets.
Thanks to a stable audience, after only 50 days of screening, the film has now risen to the top 3 highest-grossing films in Korean box office history.
“The king's warden” is only behind “The admiral: Roaring currents” with 17.61 million tickets and “Extreme job” with 16.26 million tickets.
At the same time, the film surpassed the works "Along with the gods: The two worlds" with 14.41 million tickets and "Ode to my father" with 14.25 million tickets.
Experts assess that the box office growth rate of "The king's warden" is extremely impressive, when it only took 5 days to reach 1 million tickets, 12 days to reach 2 million, 31 days to reach 10 million, and by the 7th week it still maintained stable attraction, showing a rare long-term theater survival ability.
With this momentum, the film is even predicted to quickly compete for the 2nd position currently held by "Super Difficult Profession".
Notably, in terms of revenue, "The king's warden" is currently ranked No. 1 in the history of Korean cinema. The total accumulated revenue of the film reached 144.9 billion won, surpassing both "Dai Thuy Chien" (135.7 billion won) and "Nghe siêu khó" (139.6 billion won).
The king's warden" is set in 1457 in Cheongnyeongpo, revolving around the special friendship between village chief Eom Heung Do (Yoo Hae Jin) and deposed king Danjong (Park Ji Hoon) of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), during his exile in this village.
The film received many compliments thanks to the excellent acting of the cast, helping viewers deeply sympathize with the pain of the young king, as well as the wholehearted affection of the people for him.
