To ensure the traffic opening milestone of Ring Road 3, the elevated road section in the East of Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of April 30th, contractors at the construction site are continuously constructing day and night to complete the remaining items.
The Ring Road 3 project through Ho Chi Minh City, the section through Thu Duc City (formerly) has a length of nearly 15 km (from Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway to Tan Van intersection), designed as an elevated road with 4 lanes. Currently, the road and bridge deck items are basically completed, and the construction site is moving to the asphalt paving phase.

To closely follow the April 30 traffic opening milestone, contractors maintain about 500 engineers, workers and machinery and equipment working continuously in 3 shifts of 4 crews.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, to date, the entire Ring Road 3 HCMC project has reached nearly 80% of the construction volume, basically meeting the progress requirements. At the elevated Ring Road 3 section, the progress has exceeded the 80% mark, and the asphalt paving volume of the main route has basically been completed on many key sections.

Representatives of the investor said that the asphalt paving work in the past time was directly affected by erratic rainy and windy weather. In addition, the shortage of aggregate materials (stone, sand filling) due to delays in the licensing stage of mining has disrupted the roadbed construction line.
The completion of asphalt paving and opening of 14.7 km of the main elevated bridge section before April 30 is a prerequisite for the project to continue construction and complete the last 2 km section and Tan Van intersection in June 2026, aiming to complete the entire Ring Road 3 project by the end of 2026.
