Recently, Netflix announced that the cartoon film "Kpop Demon Hunters" has surpassed the popular original series "Squid Game" to become the most watched film in the history of this platform.
Just 2 weeks ago, "K Demonpop Hunters" ranked 3rd after "Squid Game" season 1 (265.2 million views) and "Wednesday" (252.1 million views). But so far, this American cartoon has attracted 266 million views, becoming the most watched content on Netflix in both the independent film and drama genres.
The rise of "Kpop Demon Hunters" marks an important milestone, when it broke the viewing record of films released during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the number of online viewers reached its peak.
In the individual film category alone, "Kpop Demon Hunters" is also the most watched work of all time on Netflix, defeating the 2021 action and thriller "Red Notice" starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot.
Netflix's rankings are based on the number of viewers accumulated in the first 91 days since a drama aired. Released on June 20, "Kpop Demon Hunters" broke the record after just over 2 months of release.

"Kpop Demon Hunters" is an action adventure revolving around a fictional Kpop girl group called Huntr/x (featuring 3 members Rumi, Mira, Zoey), pop stars who use music to fight the Devil.

Huntr/x's song "Golden" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 - the chart of the most popular singles of the week in the US.
This achievement made Huntr/x the first female K-pop artist and K-pop girl group to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, surpassing Rose with the song APT. (No. 3) and Blackpink with the song Ice Cream (No. 13.
In Korea, Huntr/x with Golden also defeated NewJeans with Ditto, becoming the artist with the most Perfect All-Kill hourly song in history.
