After Anh trai say hi, RHYDER became a name discussed on social networks, climbing high on digital music charts. Since being crowned champion of The Voice Kids at the age of 12, Quang Anh has traveled a journey of more than 10 years to become RHYDER.
Lao Dong reporter met and talked with RHYDER about his journey with music.
RHYDER just had 2 big shows in Hanoi, performing hits, solos, and interacting with the audience at My Dinh Stadium. How did that experience make you feel?
- I feel very happy and proud to be on stage at My Dinh National Stadium, performing in front of thousands of spectators, this is definitely the most meaningful experience for me up to now.
When I stood on stage and heard the audience singing along, I felt the power of music and the deep connection with the audience.
This also gives me and my "brothers" strength and energy to continue to contribute, bringing quality music products to the audience.
After 2 nights, many audiences commented that RHYDER performed passionately, sang live well, and stood out among the Anh trai say hi group. How did RHYDER prepare for these 2 concerts, for example the impressive guitar performance in the song "Anh biet roi"?
- Actually, I don't think I stand out, I just try my best to bring great performances to the audience, those who love me, who love my "brothers".
I always wish that every moment on stage is a gift that I give with all my heart.
I'm just a small piece in the whole concert, but I want that piece to be beautiful and complete.
During the past 4 months, you have gone through many emotions. Does RHYDER have any regrets when looking back on the memorable journey?
- The past journey was truly memorable, I had a summer with many lessons, many memories with colleagues, with the audience. I also hope this is not the end of the 30 "brothers".
Say Hi Brother became a big turning point in the careers of many young singers, including RHYDER. Can you define your position and music before and after Say Hi Brother?
- Before participating in Anh trai say hi, I had just returned to the music scene. There were people who welcomed me and there were also some audiences who were not open to me. I think because I am sometimes quite "rebellious", so the audience may not be familiar and able to adapt right away.
Coming to Anh trai say hi, I changed my style in many ways, trying to transform through each round in both appearance and music. That is also the way I show the audience other aspects of myself.
Coming out of Anh trai say hi with the runner-up position, what is the best thing that RHYDER has gained, is it fame, recognition, confidence, or more financial abundance?
- Probably everything. Life has changed a lot. I received many things after Anh trai say hi, the runner-up position is like a gift that helps me believe in myself more. My spirit is high and I want to work and contribute more.
In Anh trai say hi, RHYDER shows his versatility and talent. How do you position yourself compared to the other 29 "brothers"?
- I think compared to the other 29 "brothers", I also have my own unique features so that people can recognize "ah, this is RHYDER". My own color is also what helps me to be loved by the audience and listen to my music.
Are there any special memories from the first and only time RHYDER was the captain in Say Hi Brother?
- I remember in the 4th round, I was the team captain but I wasn't in Vietnam. I was abroad and had to write music without a computer, without any equipment. I had to do it on my phone and describe it to the team members so they could visualize it and complete the song.
I was so nervous that I just stayed in my room to prepare for this song. There were nights when I stayed up all night and tried to complete 2 songs without any supporting equipment. That is a memory I will always remember.
In a recent interview with Lao Dong, People's Artist Thanh Lam shared that behind every performance that shines on stage, there is a lot of sweat and effort, from practice to filming. When the audience watches the artists having fun on screen, that scene could have been filmed at 2am. With RHYDER, what did you and your 29 "brothers" experience on reality TV?
- When entering Anh trai say hi, it is true that what the audience sees is very beautiful, but behind that are the hard practice sessions. Everyone has their own schedule, has to practice dancing, write music... so everything is very urgent.
As the performance date neared, the teams stayed up all night, sometimes only getting to match the song a few times. To have a satisfying performance, the brothers put in a lot of effort and effort. We wanted the audience to see that Vietnamese singers are also very good and talented.
