On the evening of October 17, Kpop idol Rose (Blackpink) announced on Instagram the release of a new song called “APT.” in collaboration with pop star Bruno Mars.
The song will be released at 11am on October 18 (Vietnam time). In addition to being released on digital music platforms, “APT.” will also have a CD.
The information surprised the audience, because before that, Rose had not posted any pictures or videos introducing this project.
Fans first suspected that Rose was collaborating with Bruno Mars when she posted a photo with the “Uptown Funk” singer on her personal Instagram on the evening of October 16. In it, Rose said that she taught Bruno Mars how to play a Korean drinking game.
When Bruno Mars commented on the post: “That was so funny! Remember when you tried to kiss me? It was so weird. Also, that picture was great!”, Rose replied: “Take that back or I won’t release the song, Bruno.”
Fans speculated that Bruno Mars was revealing some of the lyrics to their new song. But most believed that this would be a song from Rose’s 12-track full album “Rosie” due out this coming December.
Rose and Bruno Mars are both currently signed to the American record label Atlantic Records. The Blackpink member joined the label in late September this year.
“APT.” featuring Bruno Mars is the first song Rose has released since leaving YG Entertainment.
