According to the latest announcement by Billboard, the song “APT.” by Rose (Blackpink) and Bruno Mars has topped the two global charts Global 200 and Global Excl. US (globally except the US) for the 8th consecutive week.
Rose officially broke Jungkook's (BTS) record, becoming the Asian artist with the song topping the Billboard Global 200 chart for the most weeks in history. Jungkook's song "Seven" spent 7 weeks at the top of this chart.
Additionally, Rose’s album “rosie” debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200, a weekly chart of the most popular albums in the US. Rose is the highest-charting female K-pop solo artist on the chart.
Rosie earned 102,000 total album-equivalent units for the week. The album's total includes 70,000 traditional album units, making it the third-best-selling album of the week in the US, and 31,000 streaming-equivalent album units (SEA), which translates to 43.85 million on-demand streams over the course of the week. The album also earned 1,000 song-equivalent album units (TEA) in its first week.
With 43.85 million streams, “rosie” is now the biggest streaming week for a K-pop solo artist in the US, surpassing Jungkook’s “Golden.”
Previously, the album "rosie" recorded 179.3 million streams (unfiltered) in its first week on Spotify, becoming a female Kpop artist with the biggest debut week for an album in history, surpassing Blackpink's album "Born Pink" with 170 million streams.
On the Spotify Global Chart last week, Rose debuted at No. 1 with 124 million streams, making her the first K-pop solo artist to have an album top Spotify’s weekly chart worldwide. Previously, only two K-pop groups, BTS (“BE”) and Blackpink (“The Album”), had achieved this.
On YouTube, the MV “APT.” reached 600 million views on the morning of December 17. This is the fastest Kpop MV to achieve this achievement, after 59 days and 18 hours of release, since October 18.
