According to Wikitree, a new Korean romance drama with a unique plot about an 80-year-old wife and a husband 50 years younger is about to air.
The drama “More beautiful than heaven” will premiere on JTBC and is scheduled to air every Saturday and Sunday.
The film tells a timeless love story starring Son Suk Koo and Kim Hye Ja. Notably, actress Kim Hye Ja was born in 1941, 42 years older than Son Suk Koo (born in 1983). Their age gap is shocking and also makes the audience curious about the content of the film.
“More Beautiful Than Heaven” is directed by Kim Seok Yoon and written by Lee Nam Gyu and Kim Soo Jin. Director Kim Seok Yoon is also the one who directed the 2022 film “My Liberation Notes” starring Son Suk Koo and Kim Ji Won.
In the film, Kim Hye Ja plays the role of an old lady Lee Hae Suk, who lived a happy life with her husband until his death. Her husband loved her very much and always admired her beauty, he once said: "You were beautiful in your 20s and 30s, and now you are the most beautiful at 80."
As she was dying, Hae Suk remembered her husband's words and wished to go to heaven at her true age. Then, when she arrived in heaven, she met her husband Go Nak Jun (Son Suk Koo) in his 30s.
In the newly released trailer, Go Nak Jun went to heaven before his wife. He expected that when he reunited with his wife, she would appear in a youthful form like him. But when he met Hae Suk, Nak Jun was shocked to see that his wife was an 80-year-old woman.
Nak Jun and Hae Suk's second married life with a 50-year age difference promises to bring many surprises and excitement to the audience.

“More beautiful than heaven” is scheduled to premiere in April, airing simultaneously on cable channel JTBC and online platform Netflix.
