On the evening of May 26, Soobin's first concert took place in Hanoi.
The music night had many special guests, including the appearance of People's Artist Nguyen Huynh Tu - Soobin Hoang Son's father. The male singer and his father performed a skits to see the market and perform Xam singing.
Soobin plays the monochord, sings Xam with his father. After that, he performed a song remade from the famous xam cho song "Muc ha vo nhan". The singer said he will soon release the full version of this new mix.
After the special performance, Soobin emotionally shared: "This is the first time I have sung a duet with my father. When I invited my father to perform in my concert, I was afraid that he would not agree. But my father said that whatever I wanted him to do, he would give it his all.
My father was the one who taught me the monochord, giving me exposure to music from a very early age. Since I was a child, I have always seen the image of my father sitting and composing and writing music until 3-4 am. When pursuing music, I also write music until 4am and always think about my father's image".
Meanwhile, People's Artist Nguyen Huynh Tu expressed his pride and happiness at singing Xam, performing with his son in the concert.
He shared that he has not stood on stage for 18 years, but tries to practice to have a memorable performance for his children.
People's Artist Nguyen Huynh Tu graduated with a major in Piano Jazz from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, then worked as a lecturer at the school for 3 years. After that, he joined the Thang Long Song and Dance Troupe and formed the Rain Forest music group.
Born into a family with an artistic tradition, Soobin was taught everything about music by his father, playing musical instruments, harmonizing, folk music...
He was the one who nurtured Soobin's artistic soul, so that the audience could enjoy the sublime moments of the male singer with the monochord on stage "Call Me by Fire".
After his monochord solo, Soobin Hoang Son confided on his personal page: "Maybe in my career, there will be no stage where I can play the monochord again with as much emotion as the "Drum of Rice" stage.
With the second stage, I want to express my gratitude to the first teacher in my life, who brought me to music, introduced me to the monochord, to the sounds of folk and ethnic groups, the person who connected my soul with art. That is my father - People's Artist Nguyen Huynh Tu".
On April 21, Soobin opened for concert tickets and sold all tickets after 12 minutes. With the enthusiastic support of the audience, Soobin announced that he would organize a second night taking place right after the first night. All tickets for night 2 were sold out after a few days.
The male singer once revealed "now that dream is very close" to talk about the milestone performance in his career.
