On the evening of May 28, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations in coordination with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a ceremony to summarize and award the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award (KHCN) in 2024.
Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), and Honorary Chairman of the VIFOTEC Fund attended and presented awards to the winning projects.
Over the past 29 years, the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award assigned by the Vietnam Technical Innovation Support Fund (VIFOTEC) as the standing agency has been successfully organized, gradually affirming its prestige in the field of scientific and technological innovation in the country and being highly appreciated by international friends.
The Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award, held annually, has attracted the active participation of scientists and technologists across the country. The winning projects have been applied in production, bringing high socio-economic efficiency, contributing to promoting production of enterprises, improving productivity, quality, reducing product costs, replacing imports and creating a technology market for life, security and defense. There were 3,252 participating works and 1,116 winning works.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, Chairman of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, Chairman of VIFOTEC Fund, said that the successful organization of the award in the past 29 years, once again affirming that knowledge is the force representing the intelligence and talent of the country and the nation is one of the most important resources and motivation to bring breakthroughs and prosperity of the country. Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, Vietnam Technical Innovation Support Fund has really become a reliable address and an important bridge for Vietnam Science and Technology to access the World Science and Technology.
Dr. Phan Xuan Dung hopes that the award-winning authors will continue to contribute and succeed to bring the country firmly into a new era - an era of strong development, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers, successfully realizing President Ho Chi Minh's wish is also the wish of the entire Vietnamese nation.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award 2024 to 42 works including: 5 first prizes, 9 second prizes, 13 third prizes, 15 consolation prizes.
The Organizing Committee of the Award also decided to reward 5 units and 5 individuals with outstanding achievements in propagating, disseminating and organizing the Award.
On this occasion, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union awarded the Creative Labor Certificate to the authors who won high prizes and the Creative Youth Badge to authors of the Youth Union age.
In order to continue promoting the emulation movement of science and technology creative research in the science and technology staff, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh launched the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award in 2025, focusing on 6 key fields of technology: Automatic Mechanical Mechanical; Material technology; Information technology, electronics and telecommunications; biology for production and life; Technology to respond to climate change, environmental protection and rational use of resources; Technology aims to save energy and use new energy.
