On the evening of November 12 (Vietnam time), the final night of Miss International 2024 took place in Japan, with the victory belonging to the representative of Vietnam - Miss Vietnam 2022 Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy.
Miss Thanh Thuy is the first Vietnamese beauty to be crowned at this prestigious beauty contest, after 19 times Vietnam has had a representative participate, since 1995.
Before Miss Thanh Thuy, there were only three Vietnamese beauties in the Top 15, one in the Top 8 and one in the 3rd runner-up position at Miss International.
In 1995, beauty Truong Quynh Mai was the first representative of Vietnam to participate in Miss International held in Japan and entered the Top 15. Truong Quynh Mai also won the sub-award for Best National Costume.
In 2011, Truong Tri Truc Diem represented Vietnam at Miss International in China and also entered the Top 15.
In 2015, at the Miss International final in Japan, Vietnamese beauty Pham Hong Thuy Van won the title of 3rd runner-up.
In 2019, Miss World Vietnam 2019 2nd Runner-up - Nguyen Tuong San entered the Top 8 Miss International with the Best National Costume award.
Most recently, Miss International 2023, 2nd Runner-up World Vietnam 2022 - Nguyen Phuong Nhi stopped at the Top 15 finals. She is also the most voted contestant in the Asia-Pacific region.
Several other beauties representing Vietnam at Miss International such as Pham Ngoc Phuong Anh, Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, Huynh Thi Thuy Dung, and Dang Thu Thao did not win any awards.
