On August 12, Daily Mail reported that police discovered the body of Miss Acquene Arradaza (35 years old) after 4 days of her kidnapping.
Arradaza's body was discovered by a group of fishermen drifting offshore in Barangay 99 Diit village, Ormoc city (Philippines) on August 4 in a state of exposure, with a closed mouth and eyes, limbs tightly tied and the neck locked with a bicycle lock.
Police said the victim's body was tied to two sacks of rocks thrown into the sea for the disposal.
According to the investigation, Miss Arradaza was kidnapped on July 31 while shopping at a store.
Security cameras recorded the scene of a black Toyota Wigo carrying 3 armed men approaching, controlling and taking the victim onto the vehicle to escape.
The family reported to the police on the morning of August 4, the same day the body was found, causing the authorities to believe that the rescue opportunity had been missed.
The police determined that this was a deliberate and well-planned attack, and are currently searching for the suspect and clarifying the motive.
The victim's mother called for justice for her daughter and hoped for the support of the Philippine authorities.
The beauty queen's sister said that on the morning of the incident, Arradaza chatted with a man named Pay-ap Drilon.
The case is still under investigation.
Acquene Arradaza was born in 1990 and was crowned Miss Matag-ob (Philippines) in 2012.
Last year, her younger brother - Eros Arradaza, was shot and killed in a shootout with police.
