In the latest episode of the online entertainment show Pinggyego, South Korea's "national MC" Yoo Jae Suk introduced special guest singer Lee Hyori.
In the program, Yoo Jae Suk recalled the time when Lee Hyori was a guest on the first season of the famous reality TV show Running Man (in 2010).
Regarding this topic, Lee Hyori suddenly mentioned her relationship with actor Song Joong Ki - a star who was also a guest on Running Man, appearing with the female singer.
According to Lee Hyori, she has known Song Joong Ki since then and has maintained a good relationship until now. Song Joong Ki recently appeared on her husband, musician Lee Sang Soon,'s radio show.

Lee Hyori asked Yoo Jae Suk if Song Joong Ki had appeared on his Pinggyego show. Yoo Jae Suk admitted that it was not a joke that Lee Hyori should help arrange for Song Joong Ki to be the next guest.

Yoo Jae Suk and Song Joong Ki originally had a quite close relationship. In 2017, when Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo got married, Yoo Jae Suk was also present at the couple's wedding. But the male MC admitted that recently, he and Song Joong Ki have become increasingly distant.
"We have been in contact much more often. But since he got married (to an English wife), I felt too shy to contact him, said Yoo Jae Suk.
The male MC explained that after Song Joong Ki remarried and raised 2 children, his life may have changed a lot, making communication too difficult. Yoo Jae Suk also did not want to interrupt Song Joong Ki's busy life.
Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo divorced in 2019. Four years later (2023), Song Joong Ki remarried former British actress Katy Louise Saunders. The couple welcomed a son and a daughter and are living in Italy.
But after Yoo Jae Suk's sharing, Lee Hyori expressed: "As a true family member, whether married or divorced, it cannot affect your feelings," once again showing the close relationship between the female singer and Song Joong Ki.
