"Minari" also helped actor Steven Yeun get nominated for Best Actor at the 2021 Oscar.
"Minari" is an autobiography that tells the story of the growing up of a character named Chung, a member of a Korean family who immandered to the US in the 80s. In the film directed by Lee Isaac Chung, one of the main characters of one year's Eve plays one grandmother from Korea who comes to the US to take care of her two grandchildren and send them to work.
Actress Youn Yuh-jung joined the Korean entertainment industry in the 60s of the last century, quitting acting for a while before returning in the 80s. She has appeared in many outstanding Korean art works. Before winning the Oscar, she was honored with many major awards such as SAGs, British Film Awards and nominated at the Critics' Choice Movie Award.
