On August 14, Director of the Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) of An Giang province Tran Quang Bao said: To prepare well for the new school year 2026-2027, the Department has coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to advise the Provincial People's Committee on a project and plan to arrange, reorganize, and reduce the number of preschool, general, continuing, and vocational education institutions in the province. In the coming time, the Department will continue to coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to advise the Provincial People's Committee to complete the arrangement before August 30, 2026.
The Department also reviews and carefully prepares plans to organize the 2026 - 2027 school year opening ceremony and the Inauguration Ceremony of 3 inter-level boarding schools in 3 land border communes on September 5, 2026; continue to invest in 5 land border inter-level boarding schools to put into use in the following school years.
The Department urgently develops a plan for enrollment in 10th grade high schools in the direction of minimizing exam pressure for students and families; continue to implement a roadmap to train and improve qualifications for teachers; focus on improving qualifications for 103 core teachers to reach master's level; organize professional training on specialized topics for 43,917 turns of management staff and teachers.
Continue to coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to direct educational institutions to repair facilities, purchase equipment, and clean up the school environment; prepare well the conditions for recognizing national standard schools according to new regulations and criteria.
Continue to implement the steps of recognizing the recruitment results of public employees in the Education sector so that the unit can sign contracts for successful candidates to teach in time for the new school year.
Deploy the pilot Smart Education Operation Center (IOC) of the sector, ensuring data is "correct, sufficient, clean, live, unified, shared" to serve operational work anytime, anywhere.
Director of An Giang Department of Education and Training Tran Quang Bao also said that the Department strengthens the application of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in management and teaching safely and effectively; completes digitizing 2.7 million copies of diplomas and certificates according to the roadmap of the Ministry of Education and Training; trains 3,090 management officials, 39,195 teachers and 755,772 students to have certificates of completion of the digital competency framework so that they can become resident instructors in each household, helping teachers teach better and students learn better, meeting the digital transformation requirements of the sector.
The Department also strengthens inspection of the public disclosure of fees and collection levels for learners according to regulations; rectify tutoring; prevent school violence and drugs in schools.
