On March 19, the groundbreaking ceremony and groundbreaking simultaneously took place at 121 inter-level boarding schools, corresponding to 121 land border communes in 17 provinces and cities with borders.
The central bridge point is located at Dong Dang Primary and Secondary Boarding School, Dong Dang commune, Lang Son province.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Party and Government leaders, Government members, leaders of ministries, leaders of provinces and cities that started construction and broke ground for the school.
Speaking to direct at the Ceremony, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that in all stages of the Revolution, the Party and State always paid much attention and investment to the development of education and training in border areas.
However, the school system, especially inter-level boarding schools in border communes, is still small, and the learning conditions of students are still limited.
Therefore, the Politburo decided to invest in building inter-level boarding schools in land border communes.
This is a correct policy, with profound humanistic meaning, showing the special concern of the Party and State for people in border areas, remote and isolated areas, still facing many difficulties.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the General Secretary acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactiveness and responsibility of the Government, the Ministry of Education and Training, ministries, branches and provinces and cities in preparing projects and completing procedures to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for today's projects.
To ensure that these projects are completed according to the set plan, promptly serving the new school year 2027 - 2028, ensuring the highest quality and efficiency, the General Secretary requested Party committees and local authorities at all levels to drastically get involved, considering this as a particularly important political task of the locality in this term, regularly inspecting, supervising and urging the implementation progress, so that the projects can be deployed and built as quickly, best, most effectively and absolutely not to let negativity, corruption, and waste occur.
The education sector must build schools associated with building a modern and comprehensive educational environment. Besides teaching literacy, it is necessary to pay special attention to teaching people, fostering ideals, morality, patriotism and discipline for students.
Schools are not only places to teach and learn, but must truly become a warm "second home" for children; ensuring good conditions for eating, living, living, hygiene and food safety so that parents are assured when entrusting their children.
The General Secretary requested design, construction, consulting, and supervision units to carry out the work with the highest sense of responsibility, considering this not just an ordinary construction project but a place to send the trust and dreams of border people.
Units must ensure the highest quality for the project, absolutely ensure labor safety, technology, and fine arts, worthy of being a model school in the border region and worthy of the trust and expectations of the people, teachers, and students.
The General Secretary said that through practical surveys in localities, functional units have focused highly on upgrading learning conditions for students in the past time.
The completion of building new schools has helped many teachers and students have a better teaching and learning environment, ensuring the right to school for all children in an equal and fair manner.
Recalling Uncle Ho's teachings about the role of learning for the future of the country: "Will the mountains and rivers of Vietnam become beautiful or not, will the Vietnamese nation step towards the podium of glory to stand shoulder to shoulder with the five continental powers or not, is largely thanks to the learning efforts of the children", the General Secretary wished that the children not only study really well but also nurture dreams, aspirations to rise up, have goals in life, ideals in life, patriotism, love for their homeland and borders and pride in the traditions of their homeland.
With the new atmosphere, the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of Party committees, authorities and people in localities, the General Secretary believes that Dong Dang Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School in particular, the schools started construction today and before that will soon be completed and put into effective operation, becoming a "soft milestone" for education in border areas, contributing to human resource training, promoting sustainable socio-economic development and continuing to ignite faith for the future of the Fatherland's border region.
