On May 21, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province said that in the 2026 - 2027 school year, the whole province has 85 public high schools enrolling nearly 37,000 10th grade students.
According to the plan issued by Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, in the 2026 - 2027 school year, the province applies two enrollment methods for 10th grade, including entrance exams and admission based on academic records.
Among them, there are 5 schools organizing entrance exams including: Nguyen Du Specialized High School, Luong Van Chanh Specialized High School, N'Trang Long Ethnic Minority Boarding School (PTDTNT), Dam San Ethnic Minority Boarding School and Phu Yen Ethnic Minority Boarding School.
The remaining public high schools implement enrollment according to the admission method.
Regarding enrollment targets, for public high schools and specialized high schools, based on the scale of schools, teaching staff, facilities, equipment and teaching conditions, schools will propose targets for the Department of Education and Training to consider and decide on specific target assignments.
For Ethnic Minority Boarding High Schools including N'Trang Long, Dam San and Phu Yen, enrollment is carried out according to targets assigned by the Department of Education and Training. In which, the proportion of ethnic minority students Ede, M'nong, Gia Rai accounts for 65%, and the remaining ethnic groups account for 35%.
Phu Yen Ethnic Minority Boarding High School recruits students of Ede, Cham, Ba Na ethnic groups accounting for 75%, and the remaining ethnic groups account for 25%.
According to regulations, the number of Kinh ethnic students recruited annually at these schools does not exceed 10% of the total enrollment quota.
Regarding the enrollment area, Nguyen Du Specialized High School and Luong Van Chanh Specialized High School are allowed to enroll students throughout Dak Lak province.
Ethnic Minority Boarding High Schools N'Trang Long, Dam San and Phu Yen enroll students residing in communes and wards in accordance with the school network planning and the actual conditions of the locality.
For the remaining public high schools, enrollment is carried out by area to ensure compliance with school network planning and actual conditions in the locality, based on the unified guidance of the Department of Education and Training.
Mr. Pham Huy Van, Deputy Director of Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, said that the enrollment into 10th grade in the 2026 - 2027 school year at ethnic minority boarding schools and high schools in the province is being urgently implemented by the local education sector with a serious and objective spirit, ensuring the rights of students.
According to Mr. Van, the enrollment of 10th grade students in the 2026 - 2027 school year is of particular importance in the context that the education sector continues to implement the 2018 general education program.
The organization of enrollment is not only aimed at selecting students suitable for the training capacity of each school but also ensuring fairness, transparency, creating the most favorable conditions for students throughout the province.
This year, the number of secondary school graduates in the area continues to increase compared to the previous school year, leading to enrollment pressure at many high schools in densely populated areas.
However, the provincial education sector has proactively developed an early enrollment plan, reviewed targets suitable to facilities, teaching staff as well as students' learning needs," Mr. Van emphasized.
