Ho Chi Minh City National University (VNU-HCM) announced the equivalent conversion table between the competency assessment test scores and the 2025 high school graduation exam scores in 4 subject combinations: A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry); B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology); C01 (Math, Literature, Literature); D01 (Math, Literature, English).
According to Ho Chi Minh City National University's calculation, the gap between the top % of the competency assessment scores is different when compared with each combination of high school graduation exam scores.
For example, candidates with 901-898 points in their ability assessment are in the top 15%, equivalent to 23.25-23.1 points in the A00 exam. However, when compared to the D01 group, the top 15% of the competency assessment test has a score of about 875-870, equivalent to 21.95-21.8 points in the high school graduation exam.

In 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam will attract about 152,800 candidates to take the exam. The average score of candidates in both periods is 662.78 (on a scale of 1,200). The results are used by more than 110 universities and colleges for admission.
