Accordingly, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province appointed Mr. Ha Huy Phuong, Principal of Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, under the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh province (before merging Bac Ninh and Bac Giang), to hold the position of Principal of Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, under the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh province, from July 23, 2025 to August 29, 2027.
At the same time, Mr. Tran Duy Phuong, Principal of Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, under the Department of Education and Training of Bac Giang province (before merging Bac Ninh and Bac Giang), was appointed to hold the position of Principal of Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, under the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh province, from July 23, 2025 to November 5, 2029.
Bac Ninh Specialized High School, formerly Bac Ninh Energy and Technology High School, was established in 1993. Bac Giang Specialized School was established in 1991 with the first name of Ha Bac Province Electricity and Business School.
In the past 3 years, both have been outstanding in the work of discovering and training excellent students, helping Bac Ninh and Bac Giang (old) to compete in national, regional and international exams.
In the national excellent student selection exam for the period 2022-2024, Bac Ninh and Bac Giang are always in the top 10 provinces and cities with many awards. This year, Bac Giang has 99 tournaments, top 5 nationwide, while Bac Ninh has 81 tournaments, in 14th place. In terms of the number of first prizes, both are in the top 10, in which Bac Ninh is second (12 prizes won); and Bac Giang is 8th (5 prizes won).
Last year, 18 students nationwide won prizes in international Olympic competitions, of which 5 students came from these two schools.
According to the Decision dated July 17 of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province on the organizational structure of the Department of Education and Training, the specialized schools of the two old provinces will keep their names, respectively Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted and Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, instead of converting to Bac Ninh High School No. 1 and No. 2 as previously issued in the Decision.
