The combined admission method of schools under Ho Chi Minh City National University uses many input data sources such as high school graduation exam scores, transcript scores and competency assessment scores. Depending on each school, these components are converted and allocated with different proportions to calculate admission scores.
University of Science and Technology
Hanoi University of Science and Technology applies a combined admission method with three main components including: academic scores, bonus points and priority points.
Admission score = Academic score + Bonus points + Priority points.
In which:
Academic score = Aptitude score x 70% + High school graduation score converted x 20% + High school academic score converted x 10%.
University of Science
The University of Science stipulates that candidates can use the results of the high school graduation exam combined with transcript scores or use the ĐGNL exam score combined with transcript scores for admission consideration.
Admission score = academic score + bonus points + priority points.
For candidates considered based on high school transcripts and high school graduation exams, academic score = 0.8 x High school score + 0.2 x High school transcript score.
If candidates are considered by aptitude assessment scores and transcripts, aptitude score = 0.8 x Aptitude assessment converted score + 0.2 x Transcript score.
In case there are multiple scores, candidates are given the highest option.
University of Social Sciences and Humanities
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities stipulates the general admission formula as follows:
ĐXT = w1 High school + w2 GPA + w3 GPA + bonus points + priority points
w1 = 45%, w2 = 45% and w3 = 10%.
The admission score is considered based on the highest academic score (LC) of the corresponding admission subjects.
The school stipulates the subjects including:
Subject 1: candidates with all 3 components of scores.
Subject 2: candidates with only high school and HB scores (GPA = 0 or below the entrance threshold)
Subject 3: candidates with only ĐGNL and HB scores (high school = 0 or below the entrance threshold, HB scores include TN candidates before 2026).

University of Information Technology
University of Information Technology applies the score calculation formula as follows:
Admission score = Hs1 x THPT + Hs2 x ĐGNL + Hs3 x HB + Plus points (if any) + Priority points (if any)
In which, Hs1 = 47.5%, Hs2 = 47.5%, Hs3 = 5%.
With high school scores, candidates can choose the 2026 high school graduation exam score or convert it from the competency assessment score according to the equation method or the high school graduation score of the international program (IB, A level,.. ).
Similarly, the competency assessment component has three options: competency assessment exam scores organized by Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City; converted from high school graduation exam scores according to the bách phân vị method; SAT, ACT scores.
The transcript score is the total average score of 3 years of high school in subjects according to the highest admission combination of the major.
In case there are many types of component scores, the school will automatically select the most beneficial option for candidates.
International University
The admission score of the International University is calculated according to the formula:
Admission score = Academic score + Bonus points (if any) + Priority points (if any)
The academic score includes 3 components: the 2026 high school graduation exam score, the 2026 university entrance exam score, and the transcript score. The 3 score components are multiplied by the corresponding coefficients according to the following formula:
Academic score = k1 x High school + k2 x GPA + k3 x Academic transcript
In which, coefficient k1: 30-40%; k2: 40-50%; k3: 10-20%.

University of Economics and Law
Admission score = Academic score + Bonus points + Priority points.
In which, academic scores are the total scores of the high school graduation exam, transcripts and competency assessment organized by Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. The school stipulates academic scores for each group of candidates as follows:

University of Health Sciences
In 2026, the University of Health Sciences uses the following admission score calculation formula:
General admission score = w1 x high school + w2 x GPA + w3 x GPA + Additional points (if any) + Priority points (subjects, regions if any).
w1 in the range of 30% to 35%; w2 in the range of 45% to 50%; w3 = 20%.
In case candidates lack component scores, the Admissions Council will convert them as follows:
Candidates taking the 2026 high school graduation exam if they are missing the ĐGNL component will be supplemented with this component with the formula: ĐGNL = high school x 0.87.
High school graduates who graduate before 2026, if they are missing the high school component, will be supplemented with this component with the formula: High school = GPA x 1.15.
