The Department of Education and Training (GD&ĐT) of Can Tho has just announced that the City People's Council has issued regulations on food support for disabled students; policies to encourage students, trainees, and teachers to achieve results in exams, contests, competitions, sports festivals and remuneration for experts, teachers, and lecturers teaching and training teams in the city.
This Resolution takes effect from July 30, 2026, applicable to 4 groups of subjects.
For students, students
The first group is disabled students studying at specialized education schools, public inclusive education development support centers. In case students are eligible for many policies of the same nature and same support content, they will receive the highest level.
Accordingly, disabled students are supported with 1.3 million VND/student/month for meals and receive 9 months/year.
The second group is students and trainees studying at general education institutions, vocational education centers - continuing education in Can Tho City who achieve high results in the high school graduation exam (THPT) of Can Tho City and university entrance exams; students and trainees who win prizes at exams, competitions, contests, sports festivals (sports festivals, Phu Dong Health Festival, sports tournaments) at the city, national, regional, and international levels organized or sent to participate by competent state agencies.
Notably, students and trainees with a total score of 4 high school graduation exam subjects reaching 35 points or more will receive 5 million VND.
Students and trainees who are admitted for the first time to the university and become valedictorians in the training major receive 20 million VND.
Students and trainees who become valedictorians in the high school graduation exam receive 20 million VND.
For teachers, experts
This Resolution also applies incentives for teachers who achieve the title of excellent teacher, excellent homeroom teacher, and teacher who are in charge of excellent teams at competitions and contests organized by competent state agencies at the city, national, regional, and international levels.
In which, the highest spending level is up to 22.5 million VND/group and 1.3 million VND/individual.
Along with that are experts, lecturers, teachers, and coaches who are invited or mobilized by competent authorities to directly participate in teaching and training the city's team to participate in national, regional, and international-level exams, competitions, and festivals.
On the afternoon of August 9, Can Tho University announced the benchmark scores for official university admission in 2026.
Accordingly, for the group of majors under advanced programs and high-quality programs, the benchmark score ranges from 15 to 23.4 points. Among them, the major with the highest benchmark score is English Language (high-quality program) with 23.4 points.
For the group of majors under mass training programs, the benchmark score ranges from 15 to 28.12 points. In particular, the teacher training group has a high benchmark score, in which the Mathematics Pedagogy major has the highest benchmark score with 28.12 points.
