Minister of Education and Training (MOET) Hoang Minh Son has just issued a Decision appointing Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho, former Chairman of the National Economics University Council, as Director of the National Economics University for the term 2026-2030.
Associate Professor Dr. Bui Duc Tho was born in 1975 in Duc Tho, Ha Tinh. He was a student at the National Economics University (now the National Economics University) from 1992-1996.
Before becoming the new Director of the National Economics University, he had held positions at the school.
From 1996-2010, he was a lecturer at the National Economics University. In which, from 1997-1999, he studied for a master's degree at Boise State University, USA. From September 2000 to May 2005, he studied administration at Kyung Hee University, South Korea.
From 2010 to present, he has held many positions: Deputy Head of Department, Deputy Head of Department in charge, Head of Science Management Department, Head of Organization and Personnel Department, Vice Rector, Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the University, Chairman of the National Economics University Council.
National Economics University was established in 1956 with the initial name of School of Economics and Finance. In November 2024, the school became the 9th university of Vietnam.
