On July 14, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1268/QD-TTg on merging Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism into Hong Duc University.
According to the decision, Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism is merged into Hong Duc University - a unit directly under Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee.
The Prime Minister assigned the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant agencies and units to carry out the handover and reception of learners, personnel, finances and assets of Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism into Hong Duc University in accordance with regulations.
The process of merger and reorganization must ensure normal operation, legitimate rights and interests of relevant parties; not to let negativity, losses, and waste of finance and assets occur.
The Ministry of Education and Training and Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee are responsible for directing and guiding Hong Duc University to continue training and issuing degrees to students currently studying at Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of learners.
Previously, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee approved a project to merge the two schools. After the merger, the new educational institution retains the name of Hong Duc University.
According to the project, Hong Duc University will manage 15 training units, including 12 faculties, 2 affiliated schools and 1 national defense and security education center. The school also has 7 functional rooms, 2 centers, 1 department, 1 autonomous unit and scientific journals.
After the merger, Hong Duc University has a total of 926 officials, employees and laborers, including 708 officials and 218 contract workers.
The teaching staff has 562 people, including 230 PhDs, including 35 associate professors; 314 masters and 18 people with university degrees. The management staff has 125 people, including 88 PhDs, including 23 associate professors; 36 masters and 1 person with university degrees.
The facilities and equipment of Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism are received in their original state, including lecture halls, practice rooms specializing in fine arts, music, performance halls and multi-purpose sports area.
Students of Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism are admitted, continue to be trained, considered for graduation and awarded degrees according to the program they are studying, ensuring that the learning process is not interrupted.
