Learn carefully about the method and combination of admissions
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phu Khanh - Vice Rector of Phenikaa University, the 2026 enrollment regulations issued by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) have many new points to ensure the rights of candidates and create transparency in the admission process.
One of the notable new points is that each training institution is only allowed to use a maximum of 5 admission methods. According to Mr. Khanh, this regulation helps candidates not fall into a "matrix" of too many methods as before.

If schools offer too many admission methods, candidates may feel confused and find it difficult to determine which method is suitable for their strengths. Limiting the number of methods will help candidates easily orient and choose" - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phu Khanh commented.
The Ministry of Education and Training also stipulates that each candidate is only allowed to register a maximum of 15 aspirations. Limiting the number of aspirations will require candidates to consider more carefully when choosing and arranging the registration order.
Before the above changes, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phu Khanh advised candidates to spend time carefully learning about the enrollment information of schools. In which, it is necessary to pay attention to the admission method and subject combinations for each major.
If you are interested in a school or a major, you can proactively find information on the official website, enrollment counseling channels or participate in school counseling activities" - Mr. Nguyen Phu Khanh shared.
In addition to learning about admission information, candidates still need to focus on completing the second semester well and preparing mentally for the high school graduation exam, because this is an important basis in many admission methods.
Carefully consider your abilities and interests when choosing a major
Dr. Nguyen Phi Long - Head of Training Department, Vietnam Women's Academy - also advises candidates to preview enrollment information of the majors and schools they are interested in.
When they have enough information, candidates need to listen to themselves, consider their own desires and orientations to arrange their aspirations in the most optimal way.

Currently, the number of schools and majors enrolling students is increasing, while many candidates do not have enough experience to clearly identify their abilities and orient themselves appropriately. Therefore, clearly defining their desires before choosing aspirations is extremely important" - Mr. Long shared.
According to Dr. Nguyen Phi Long, there are 4 criteria that candidates should consider when arranging aspirations. First is their own learning ability. Second is interests, desires and career orientation. Third is the ability to be admitted. And finally, the job opportunities of the industry after 4 years of study.
He emphasized: "The highest aspiration should be a major and training institution that meets the balance between abilities, personal desires, admission ability and career prospects in the future.
Both Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phu Khanh and Dr. Nguyen Phi Long advise candidates not to choose aspirations based on the school's reputation but to ignore other important factors.
When hesitating between majors and schools, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phu Khanh advises candidates to prioritize choosing majors that suit their abilities first.
In fact, the university learning process is not easy. If you only choose a hot school but study a major that you don't really like, when you encounter difficulties in the learning process, you will be more likely to give up.
Conversely, when choosing the right major they love, students will have more motivation, passion and determination to overcome difficulties in the learning process" - Mr. Nguyen Phu Khanh added.
