According to Can Tho Electronic Information Portal, the Office of the City People's Committee has just issued Official Letter No. 1154/VPUB-KGVX, to implement the Official Letter of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) on guiding the organization of 2 sessions/day teaching for general education in the 2025-2026 school year in the city.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with departments, branches, People's Committees at the commune level and related units to organize 2 sessions/day of teaching for high school students in the 2025 - 2026 school year in the city, ensuring compliance with the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training; at the same time, advising the City People's Committee to direct the implementation of the contents under its authority.

Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training issued an official dispatch on guiding the organization of 2 sessions/day teaching for general education. The Ministry of Education and Training requires effective implementation of the general education program's goals, not causing overload, in accordance with the psychology and health of students; meeting the needs and aspirations of students and in accordance with the actual conditions of schools and localities.
The organization of 2 teaching sessions/day is carried out flexibly. The content of the first session focuses on the main curriculum; the second session focuses on supplementary activities, personal capacity development, life skills education, STEM/STEAM, reading culture, art, sports, foreign languages, artificial intelligence (AI), financial education, traffic safety and other educational contents suitable for students' interests, talents, etc.
For primary school level, each day is arranged no more than 7 lessons, each session is 35 minutes, implemented at least 9 sessions/week (equivalent to 32 sessions/week). The grassroots and high school levels will implement according to the roadmap, with the condition that the facilities and teaching staff meet the requirements, the minimum curriculum is 5 days/week, maximum 11 sessions/week, each day is arranged for no more than 7 lessons, each 45-minute session.

The Ministry of Education and Training also requires localities to ensure sufficient number and structure of teachers for each level of education and subject; arrange and regulate teachers to overcome local surplus and shortage; recruit correctly and fully according to assigned staffing; sign teaching contracts to supplement in a timely manner; do not let the arrangement of the apparatus affect students' learning.
General education institutions are responsible for surveying students' learning needs, developing school education plans, arranging flexible lessons, organizing appropriate meals and lunch plans, ensuring students' safety, nutrition and health.
