Ms. Nguyen Hong Ngoc Uyen graduated from Danang University of Foreign Languages, majoring in English in 2012 and has a level 1 and level 2 teaching certificate issued by Danang University of Education.
Ms. Ngoc Uyen asked: "Now I want to take the civil service exam to become an English teacher at primary school level. Am I qualified? Are my current level 1 and 2 teaching certificates still valid?"
Responding to Ms. Ngoc Uyen's question, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) said:
On January 27, 2022, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Official Dispatch No. 336/BGDDT-NGCBQLGD regarding a number of contents related to the standard training level and pedagogical certificates, in which the Ministry of Education and Training requested localities to accept the types of pedagogical certificates that training and fostering institutions had issued to teachers before May 22, 2021 (including pedagogical certificates of level 1 and 2), however, this only applies to teachers who have participated in teaching and education contracts at general education institutions.
Currently, to participate in recruitment, teachers with a bachelor's degree in a non-teacher training field must have a certificate of pedagogical training according to the provisions of Circular No. 11/2021/TT-BGDDT dated April 5, 2021 of the Minister of Education and Training promulgating the Pedagogical Training Program for people with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field who wish to become primary school teachers (effective from May 22, 2021).
