According to the Department of Education and Training of Yen Bai province, students in the province will continue to stay home from school until September 14 to prevent floods caused by storm No. 3.
Along with that, the Department requires the Department of Education and Training and affiliated units during the school break not to organize educational activities inside and outside the school to absolutely ensure the safety of human life and health.
At the same time, proactively monitor the situation, immediately after the water recedes, mobilize forces to quickly clean schools, classrooms, teaching equipment and supplies; carry out disinfection, sterilization, disease prevention, environmental sanitation after the storm to ensure safety to welcome students back to school.
Review and adjust teaching plans and teaching assignments from September 16 to ensure compliance with the 2024-2025 school year schedule.
According to the Quick Report of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Yen Bai province, by the morning of September 11, the storm and flood had left 41 people dead and missing. Of these, 37 people died due to landslides, 1 person died due to flooding, 3 people were missing and 17 people were injured.
Total housing damage reached 22,365. Of which, Yen Bai city alone had 12,000 flooded houses.
The whole province has evacuated 11,396 households to ensure safety.
