From early morning, the exam site area of the High School for the Gifted (An Dong ward) was crowded with candidates and parents. Many students took the opportunity to review materials, chat with friends before entering the exam room, while parents waiting outside could not hide their nervousness.
This year, the High School for the Gifted - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City enrolls 595 10th grade targets. According to the school's statistics, there are more than 4,707 registered candidates, an increase compared to last year.

Truong Vinh Trong Quoc - a student at Saigon High School for the Gifted - said that he was both nervous and excited when entering the exam.
Today, I take Literature, English and in the afternoon I take Math. I was a little worried, but thanks to my parents and teachers' encouragement, I feel more confident," Quoc shared.
The male student said that he has been reviewing since the beginning of the 9th grade school year, but in the days leading up to the exam, he proactively reduced the intensity of studying to maintain a comfortable spirit.
This is a goal I have been pursuing since 6th grade, so I want to try my best," Trong Quoc said.

Meanwhile, Ha Hai Dang - a student of Thai Binh Secondary and High School - maintained a fairly relaxed mentality when taking the Literature specialized exam.
I see this as an opportunity to try my hand, so I don't put too much pressure on myself. I still study but try to keep my mind relaxed" - Hai Dang shared.
According to the male student, in addition to the entrance exam to the High School for the Gifted, he also registered to take the 10th grade specialized class exam at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted. However, if he passes the High School for the Gifted, he is willing to choose to study here.

Traveling more than 50 km from Tay Ninh to Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Minh Khang said that he and his family moved from the afternoon before to prepare for the exam.
I registered to take the English specialized exam. Although I know the competition ratio is high, I want to try my hand to gain more experience" - Minh Khang said.
The male student said that in the past 3 months, he has focused on practicing exam questions and adjusting his living time to ensure health during the exam days.

Not only candidates, many parents were also present early to accompany their children. Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (Bay Hien ward) said that the family does not put much emphasis on passing or failing, but hopes that their children will have more experiences.
My child has tried to review throughout the past time, so the family only encouraged him to stay calm and do his best in the exam. Seeing my child confidently entering the exam room makes me feel more secure," Ms. Lan shared.

According to the plan, the 10th grade entrance exam at the High School for the Gifted takes place on two days, May 23-24, with non-specialized exams and specialized subjects according to the registered aspirations of candidates.
