On July 11, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak said that the unit is coordinating with the Department of Finance and People's Committees of communes and wards to urgently remove obstacles to pay overtime teaching fees (overstated teaching) for teachers at public educational institutions in the period from the 2020-2021 school year to the 2024-2025 school year.
At a recent working session between the Standing Committee of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee and the education sector, leaders of the Department of Education and Training reported on the results achieved in the past time.
In which, the issue of overdue overtime pay for teachers was brought up for discussion. This is a fee paid according to regulations for teachers who teach more than the standard number of periods.
Through review, Dak Lak province has 33 communes and wards incurring overtime pay debts with a total amount of about 38.6 billion VND. After localities proactively balanced resources, 26 communes and wards have completed payment.
Currently, there are still 7 communes and wards that have not been completely resolved, with a total debt of about 13.4 billion VND.
Mr. Do Huu Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, requested departments, branches and localities to urgently coordinate to remove all obstacles related to responsibilities, funding sources and payment procedures.
According to Mr. Huy, agencies and units must ensure the full settlement of regimes and policies for teachers. The Department of Education and Training, the Department of Finance and the People's Committees of communes and wards are assigned to complete the payment of overtime teaching fees and regimes according to Decree No. 66/2025/ND-CP within 45 days, not to let the debt situation drag on.
As Lao Dong newspaper has reported, Dak Lak province currently has dozens of communes and wards that have not paid overtime teaching fees to teachers. This debt has lasted for 5 years.
The Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province has requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to balance funding sources for affiliated educational institutions to definitively pay off the overtime teaching fees owed teachers for many years.
