In the 2024-2025 school year, Lao Cai province has 14,517 grade 9 students, of which 10,994 students registered to take the 10th grade entrance exam (165 students were admitted directly). The enrollment target is 9,760 students, equivalent to more than 67% of junior high school graduates.
The exam is held at 38 examination boards with 472 exam rooms located in districts, towns and cities.
On the morning of June 5, candidates took the Foreign Language exam. By the afternoon of June 5 and the morning of June 6, candidates registering to Lao Cai High School for the Gifted will take the professional subjects.
