Candidates take the Literature exam - the first exam in the 10th grade public high school entrance exam in Hanoi this year.
The exam time is 120 minutes. The exam time is from 8 am. According to the new program, the exam questions will not use materials in textbooks, students can no longer guess the questions or learn by rote.
The official Literature exam questions and reference answers will be updated by Lao Dong immediately after the exam time ends.
Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the total number of candidates registered for the 10th grade public school entrance exam in the 2026 - 2027 school year is nearly 125,000, an increase of more than 21,000 candidates compared to last year.
With this number, this is Hanoi's year with a very large number of students taking the 10th grade entrance exam, and the number of exam scores has also increased significantly compared to last year.
The total number of officials, teachers, staff and service forces participating in tasks at the exam sites is about 18,000 people. In addition, the city also mobilized about 2,000 officials to work in inspection at the exam sites.
According to the plan, on the morning of May 30, candidates will take the Literature exam (in 120 minutes), and in the afternoon, the Foreign Language exam (in 60 minutes). On the morning of May 31, candidates will take the Math exam in 120 minutes. Candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam to specialized schools will take additional specialized subjects on June 1.
It is expected that from June 19-26, Hanoi will announce the 10th grade exam scores on the information portal of the Department of Education and Training and the city's first-level enrollment portal.
