The exam is 60 minutes long with 40 multiple-choice questions with the contents: Pronunciation - Acccent; Grammar - Vocabulary; Communication function; Reading comprehension.
After 60 minutes of doing the test, Bui Ha Vy - a candidate at the exam site of Yen Hoa Secondary School, confidently achieved over 9 points.
Students who have reviewed carefully can completely do well on this manageable exam. The pronunciation is all sentences that I have reviewed, in textbooks. The writing part has differentiating sentences. The reading passage is quite long, with many new words, but if you have the ability to analyze context, you can completely do it" - Ha Vy shared.
Le Gia Minh - a candidate taking the exam at Yen Hoa Secondary School exam site also commented that the English exam was quite easy and confidently achieved over 9 points.
According to Minh, the exam only has about 1-2 differentiating questions, and some new vocabulary made me spend more time thinking before giving the answer.
Commenting on the English exam for 10th grade in Hanoi this year, Ms. Mai Linh, an English teacher at Marie Curie Long Bien High School, said that the official exam for 10th grade in English in 2026 - 2027 maintains the same structure as previous years but has some subtle adjustments in difficulty and question format, clearly reflecting the orientation of the 2018 General Education Program to enhance communication skills, language thinking and practical application.
The exam comprehensively covers 4 skills: vocabulary - grammar, reading comprehension, communication language, and writing, but there are outstanding changes: Some questions have a more realistic context, closer to students' lives (for example, the rewriting part or reading comprehension). The questions require students to have relatively good vocabulary ability.
The exam is aimed at comprehensive language proficiency testing, not simply rote learning" - Ms. Mai Linh commented.
Regarding differentiation, Ms. Mai Linh said that this year's exam questions closely follow the topic in the 9th grade English program. Therefore, average students can get 5-6 points if they firmly grasp basic knowledge; good students can get 7-8 points.
Excellent students need to be careful in the reading comprehension part and complete paragraphs to get a score of 9 – 10" - Ms. Mai Linh said.
Tomorrow, candidates will take the Math exam - the 3rd exam and also the last exam in the 10th grade public high school entrance exam in Hanoi this year.
