On August 19, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Chairman of Nam Ba Don Commune People's Committee - said that there are many teachers in the area teaching according to Decree 111.
After the reflection of Lao Dong Newspaper, the commune submitted a document to the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Finance requesting a budget to pay teachers' salaries from June to August 2025 according to the signed contract.
According to Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri Le Thi Huong, the Department has grasped information about many contract teachers under Decree 111 in the area who have not been paid their salaries for June-July 2025.
The Department requests competent authorities to find out the cause and at the same time propose solutions to ensure the rights of teachers.
The Quang Tri Department of Home Affairs informed that in the old Ba Don town area, there were 82 contract teachers according to Decree 111. This unit is coordinating with the Department of Finance to resolve the regime for teachers.
A representative of the Department of Finance said that the specialized departments are inspecting and will coordinate with the communes of Ba Don town (old) to grasp the list of contract teachers according to Decree 111. When the procedures are completed, the Department will immediately supplement funding to ensure timely payment.
Previously, many teachers in Nam Ba Don and Nam Gianh communes reported to Lao Dong Newspaper that their salaries had not been paid according to their contracts. Mr. S, a teacher at a secondary school, said that his contract is valid from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025, stipulating that salary is paid at the beginning or end of the month.
According to the reflection, in the 2023-2024 school year, teachers will still be paid summer salary according to regulations. However, from June 2025 to now, many people have not received their summer salary even though they have completed their teaching tasks, participated in training, considered exams, judged exams and other professional work.
The delay in paying salaries has caused many difficulties for teachers' lives, especially in the context of high prices and limited income. Many opinions hope that the authorities will soon resolve the issue to ensure the rights and stabilize the lives of teachers.
