The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) has announced the benchmark scores for specialized grade 10 in the 2026-2027 school year. This year, the benchmark scores have increased sharply in many subjects.
Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted continues to be the unit with the highest admission score in many specialized classes. Leading the whole city is the Biology specialized class with 39.25 points in nguyện vọng 1 and 39.75 points in nguyện vọng 2.
In addition to Biology specialized classes, many other specialized classes of this school also have very high benchmark scores such as Chemistry specialized class 38.5 points, integrated English specialized class 5695 reaching 37.75 points, Math specialized class reaching 37.5 points.
At Tran Dai Nghia High School, the highest benchmark score also belonged to the Biology specialized class with 37.75 points; followed by the integrated English specialized class 5695 with 37 points, Chemistry specialized class 36.5 points, English specialized class 36.25 points and Literature specialized class 36 points.
Meanwhile, two specialized schools in regions 2 and 3, Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted and Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, have lower benchmark scores.
The specialized Literature class has the highest benchmark scores in both schools. Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted takes 34.75 points, and Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted takes 34.25 points.
In general, in all 4 specialized high schools of Ho Chi Minh City, specialized classes of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and English belong to the group with the highest benchmark scores. Many specialized classes take over 37 points, even approaching the 40-point mark, showing the level of competition and input quality this year is very high.
In the opposite direction, some specialized classes have lower benchmark scores such as Geography specialized, History specialized, Informatics specialized... especially in specialized schools in areas 2 and 3, with levels from 27 to more than 30 points.
This year, more than 11,000 candidates registered to take the exam at specialized schools. Candidates must take 3 compulsory exam subjects including: Literature, Mathematics, English and one specialized subject according to their registered aspirations.
The admission score for specialized classes is the total score of 3 subjects Literature, Mathematics, English (coefficient 1) and the score of specialized subject (coefficient 2).
According to the enrollment plan, only candidates who take all the prescribed exams, do not violate the regulations and all exams achieve scores greater than 2 are eligible to participate in admission consideration.
After announcing the benchmark scores, schools will guide admitted candidates to carry out enrollment confirmation procedures according to the regulations of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.
If they are not admitted or do not enroll in a specialized school (including the High School for the Gifted under Ho Chi Minh City National University), secondary school graduates in Ho Chi Minh City are still allowed to participate in admission to 10th grade usually according to 3 registered aspirations.
