According to the project of Dien Bien Department of Education and Training, after arranging and establishing 15 boarding schools in border communes, the whole province has 448 schools and 1,082 school sites.
Compared to before the arrangement, a decrease of 17 schools and 68 school sites. Specifically, a decrease of 6 kindergartens, 15 primary schools; an increase of 4 secondary schools; a decrease of 16 kindergarten sites, 52 primary school sites and 68 community learning centers.
According to the plan, it is proposed to maintain the network of high schools; maintain 4 vocational education - continuing education centers.
12 communes proposed to maintain the school/school point network of educational institutions including: Muong Toong, Muong Tung, Nam Nen, Quai To, Pu Nhung, Cha To, Xa Dung, Pu Nhi, Muong Luan, Tia Dinh, Sinh Phinh, Sang Nhe.
At the workshop, delegates discussed the draft project on arranging the organization of educational institutions to meet the requirements of renovating the management apparatus and improving the operational efficiency of the Education sector.
Content contributing opinions on the plan to organize the school network, management mechanism, decentralization of tasks, arrangement of staff and teachers and ensuring facilities for educational institutions after arrangement.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Van Doat - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested the Education sector and localities to pay special attention to the model of inter-level boarding schools in border communes. Link the arrangement of schools and classes with traffic conditions, service radius, student pick-up and drop-off plans, boarding and semi-boarding arrangements and improve teaching quality.
The opinions and contributions at the workshop will be summarized and absorbed to complete the project before submitting it to competent authorities for consideration and approval.
