Hai Phong - On September 10, the City National Assembly Delegation supervised a thematic topic on food safety in Ngo Quyen ward.

The supervisory delegation conducted actual inspections of food safety conditions at two schools with semi-boarding collective kitchens in Ngo Quyen ward, including: Sao Sang 3 Kindergarten and Nguyen Thuong Hien Elementary School.

At the school sites, the delegation directly inspected legal documents, food supply contracts, origin of input materials, implementation of the 3-step inspection regime and 24-hour food sample storage according to regulations. At the same time, surveyed the actual area of preliminary processing and processing according to the principle of one-way kitchen, equipment and tools system, domestic water sources, kitchen environmental sanitation conditions and protective clothing of staff directly cooking.

The delegation noted that schools have proactively and closely coordinated with the Parents' Representative Board in monitoring the quality of semi-boarding meals, ensuring nutrition and hygiene for students; and at the same time reminded schools to continue to strictly maintain the process of controlling the origin of fresh food imported daily right from the beginning of the new school year.

According to reports, Ngo Quyen ward currently manages 666 establishments under food safety management, including 29 boarding kitchens, 98 restaurants, eateries and 287 street food businesses. In the period 2022 - 2026, inter-sectoral inspection teams inspected 1,395 establishments, administratively fined 72 establishments with a total amount of more than 301 million VND. The locality maintains a hotline to receive feedback 24/24 hours, promotes Zalo groups to connect business households and maintain the area to prevent collective food poisoning incidents.

Mr. La Thanh Tan - Deputy Head of the specialized delegation of the City National Assembly Delegation - acknowledged the proactiveness of Ngo Quyen ward in leading, directing and maintaining the order of food safety management after arranging administrative units. At the same time, he highly appreciated the compliance with hygiene standards and one-way procedures at school kitchens surveyed in reality.

The delegation requested the locality to continue to strengthen management in the direction of risk control, and promote unscheduled inspections of street food and school gate areas. Regarding recommendations and proposals on decentralization of management, human resource mechanisms and interconnected databases, the delegation fully receives them for synthesis and transfer to competent authorities for consideration and removal in the near future.
