Mr. Chuong said that on average, about 5-7 days after the exam, the Ministry will announce the answer keys for all high school graduation exam subjects. This time is to wait for 34 localities to complete scanning multiple-choice exam papers onto the grading system, ensuring safety.
Last year, the answer keys for the exam subjects were also announced by the Ministry of Education and Training about 10 days after the exam ended.
Regarding the marking of Literature - the only subject to be tested in essay form, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training said that this is the first year marking literature subjects in the form of rubric (a tool for calculating scores and detailed assessment, presented in matrix form).
This is a grading method based on a set of pre-defined criteria. This method divides the test requirements into levels of achievement (e.g., from excellent to poor), with specific descriptions for each level.
The Ministry of Education and Training said that it has trained teachers on this grading method nationwide to understand it.
The 2026 high school graduation exam takes place in two days, June 11-12, with more than 1.2 million candidates. Candidates will know the graduation exam scores on the morning of July 1, and then register their university aspirations until July 14.
According to the 2026 admission regulations, no matter which method of university admission is used, candidates must achieve a total graduation exam score of three subjects according to the combination from 15 or higher.
