Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) organized a graduation ceremony for 2,815 new bachelors of 2022, 2023 under 34 training majors, along with 211 new masters of 6 majors and 2 new doctors in Business Administration in two days, August 27-28.
Among the new bachelors, Pham Phuong Doanh, valedictorian of the Law major, attracted attention with GPA 3.96 and IELTS 8.0 graduation results. In addition to academic achievements, Phuong Doanh also participates in scientific research, academic competitions and international exchange activities.
Thanks to her English background, during her time at school, Phuong Doanh supported American students in the summer study program of the University of Pittsburgh at UEF. These activities help female students have more opportunities to exchange and learn with students from many countries.
Sharing about what she has gained after university years, Phuong Doanh believes that skills are one of the important lessons that books can hardly fully convey.
According to Phuong Doanh, students need to actively connect and work with people, and actively participate in extracurricular activities, competitions or projects. Through these experiences, students can practice communication, coordination and behavior skills with people with different personalities and working styles.
Regarding the balance between studying and life, Phuong Doanh believes that there is no absolute balance. There are stages where one task needs to be prioritized and other tasks should be temporarily put aside.
The important thing is not to try to divide time equally for everything, but to identify what needs to be prioritized in each stage and arrange time reasonably," Phuong Doanh shared.
The female valedictorian also said that the companionship and support of her family is one of the factors that helps her maintain her studies and pursue goals throughout her university years.
During her studies, Phuong Doanh pays special attention to participating in academic competitions. According to her, each competition brings different legal knowledge, and is also an opportunity to learn from students of other universities, thereby improving thinking, behavior and problem-solving skills.
After graduating, Phuong Doanh plans to study for a master's degree, specializing in criminal law - a field she chose and pursued from the early days of university. In the immediate future, the female valedictorian wants to spend time accumulating practical experience to have a more comprehensive perspective, and at the same time create a foundation for in-depth research later.
