The Hanoi People's Committee has just responded to voters' requests to invest in building a new high school (level 3) in Tuong Mai ward to meet the learning needs of the people in the ward with a population of over 136,000 people.
The Hanoi People's Committee said that according to the report of Tuong Mai Ward, there are currently 26 schools at all levels in the ward, including 12 kindergartens, 8 primary schools, 5 secondary schools and 1 private high school, without a public high school.
According to Decision No. 1569/QD-TTg dated December 12, 2024 of the Prime Minister on approving the Hanoi Capital Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; accordingly, in the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, in Tuong Mai ward, a plot of land with the symbol A2/TH2 QHPK H2-4, with an area of 16,300 m2, was allocated to build a new public high school to meet the learning needs of people in the ward and neighboring areas.
In Decision No. 3075/QD-UBND dated July 12, 2021 of the City People's Committee on approving the Hanoi School Network Planning to 2020, with a vision to 2030, it is stated: Ensure that an area with 3 - 50,000 people has 1 public high school.
In Decision No. 1569/QD-TTg dated December 12, 2024 of the Prime Minister approving the Hanoi Capital Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, it is expected to build 8 new high schools in the old Hoang Mai district.
In the 2021-2025 period, the city budget has allocated 525.545 billion VND to implement 4 projects to renovate and upgrade high schools (including the construction of 2 new schools), so in the 2021-2030 period, the old Hoang Mai district will have 5 public high schools (the planning target by 2050 is 8 high schools).
The new Tuong Mai ward was separated from the old Hoang Mai district, the enrollment area is based on the principle that 3 - 50,000 people have 1 public high school (no investment required according to the commune or ward area).
The City People's Committee directs the People's Committee of Tuong Mai Ward to coordinate with the Department of Education and Training to review the current status of schools in the area, the allocation of enrollment for high school students, and the needs of local people to propose a public investment plan for the period 2026-2030 in accordance with regulations, avoiding budget waste.
