Regarding experiential activities, career guidance and non-school education activities, educational institutions implement, the Department of Education and Training requests institutions not to abuse the name of organizing experiential and career guidance activities of the 2018 General Education Program to organize sightseeing and tourism activities... without being associated with the goals, content and requirements to be achieved of the program.
Organizing practical and safe experiential and career-oriented activities suitable for the age and actual conditions; associated with life skills, personal responsibility, community and career orientation. At the primary school level, schools focus on self-discovery activities, self-training activities, activities to develop relationships with friends, teachers and family members, and at the same time carry out social activities and learn about some occupations close to students, creating a natural transition to higher levels of education.
At the junior high school level, focus on helping students recognize their interests and abilities, learn about careers and choose a study path after junior high school. At the high school level, strengthen career orientation education, support students in choosing subjects, career orientation, and developing abilities suitable for themselves.
Non-school education activities must have plans and plans to ensure safety, clearly define goals, content, time, location, composition, in charge and situation handling plans; coordinate with parents and related parties according to regulations, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of students.
Regarding the organization of 2-session/day teaching, the Department requests that in the process of building the timetable, the school arrange session 1 and session 2 according to the school's education plan, ensuring science, rationality, and convenience for students and teachers; do not alternate the lessons and activities of session 2 with the lessons of session 1.
The school must develop a plan to organize session 2 in the school's education plan; clearly define the content, duration, students, implementers, location and ensuring conditions; organize implementation in accordance with the curriculum, education plan and current regulations.
The organization of session 2 activities must ensure the right goals, content and subjects; do not force students to participate in activities that are not mandatory content of the program; do not take advantage of the organization of 2 sessions/day to organize tutoring and extra classes in violation of regulations or collect fees in violation of regulations.
For elementary school classes organizing 2-session/day teaching: guide students to complete learning content in class; do not assign homework to students; encourage students to keep books and school supplies in the classroom.
