For enrollment in grade 10 of non-specialized public high schools in the 2027-2028 school year, the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training decided to implement the entrance exam method. This method is built on the basis of actual facilities, teaching staff, and student scale, in order to ensure the learning rights of students.
The exam subject is implemented according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. The direct admission regime is also applied according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
For enrollment in grade 10 specialized high schools, the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training stipulates the entrance exam method at Nguyen Trai Specialized High School and Tran Phu Specialized High School.
At Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, students registering for specialized Math classes take the specialized Math subject; specialized Informatics classes are allowed to choose to take the specialized Math or specialized Informatics exam.
Specialized classes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology take exams in Natural Sciences (KHTN) 1 (Specialized Physics), KHTN2 (Specialized Chemistry) and KHTN3 (Specialized Biology) respectively. The specialized Literature class takes the specialized Literature exam; the specialized History and Geography class takes the subjects LS&ĐL1 (Specialized History) and LS&ĐL2 (Specialized Geography).
For specialized classes in English, French, Russian, Chinese and Korean, the specialized exam subject is English. The specialized Informatics class enrolls no more than 75% of the quota by the specialized Informatics exam, the remaining quota is enrolled by the specialized Math exam.
At Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, the entrance exam method is applied similarly to the specialized subjects of Mathematics, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History and Geography.
For specialized foreign language classes, there are some regulations on alternative exam subjects. Specifically, specialized French, Japanese and Korean classes are allowed to enroll up to 50% of the quota equal to the corresponding specialized subject exam. The remaining quota is enrolled by the specialized English exam.
Regarding the enrollment target for 10th grade specialized high schools in the 2027-2028 school year, Nguyen Trai Specialized High School is assigned 14 classes with a total of 490 students.
In which, the specialized Math class has 2 classes, 70 students; specialized classes in Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, English, French, Russian, Chinese and Korean, each class has 1 class with 35 students.
Tran Phu High School for the Gifted is assigned 19 classes with a total of 665 students. Specifically, the specialized Math class has 2 classes, 70 students; specialized Physics 2 classes, 70 students; specialized Literature 2 classes, 70 students; specialized English 2 classes, 70 students and specialized French 2 classes, 70 students. Specialized classes in Informatics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean, each class has 1 class with 35 students.
