After 1 month of piloting 5-day/week main teaching (Monday to Friday) at 69 secondary and high schools in Ninh Binh province, it shows that educational institutions have been proactive and have many creative ways. During the implementation process, units have grasped feedback, especially the difficulties, problems, and inadequacies that arose to have a complete preliminary assessment, close to the actual situation.
Mr. Phan Thanh Cong - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ninh Binh province said that the Ninh Binh provincial education sector implemented a pilot program of teaching the main curriculum for 5 days/week right at the time the Ministry of Education and Training issued Circular No. 29/2024/TT-BGDDT, dated December 30, 2024, regulating extra teaching and learning, which has set out requirements for adjusting the education plan in schools, especially at secondary school level.
Educational institutions have been proactive and have many creative ways. During the implementation process, it is important to grasp feedback, especially the difficulties, problems, and inadequacies that arise to have a complete preliminary assessment, close to the actual situation.
"The pilot results of implementing 5-day/week main curriculum show that it is very suitable for the current context and conditions. The implementation of 5-day/week main teaching in Ninh Binh is generally not difficult, uncompromising and ensures scientificity. Secondary school teachers and students have a Saturday off every week like other levels of education and civil servants and public employees nationwide, thereby bringing social positiveness" - Mr. Cong said.
According to Mr. Cong, the Ninh Binh provincial education sector has agreed to implement 5-day/week main teaching (from Monday to Friday) in all public secondary and high schools in the province, starting from March 10.
"We also encourage private schools to teach 5 days/week. Luong Van Ty High School for the Gifted is proactively implemented according to its own plan, in line with the school's characteristics in the general spirit of minimizing teaching and learning on Saturdays" - Mr. Cong shared.
