Hoàng Thông - a candidate in Ho Chi Minh City - said that he plans to apply for the Environmental Engineering major but finds the admission score for this major quite low. So if he gets accepted, what are the job opportunities after graduation and is it because the training is not good that the admission score is low?
This question was raised by Hoàng Thông at the admission counseling program held at the University of Technology - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City recently.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huỳnh Thanh Hùng - former Acting Rector of the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Ho Chi Minh City - said that currently, the environmental sector is being trained by many schools, so students have many choices.
"In the past, the environmental sector was very hot, the admission scores were always very high, and conversely, the hot major now is Veterinary Medicine, which used to have difficulty in admissions. The fact that students follow hot majors changes the admission scores," Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huỳnh Thanh Hùng analyzed.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huỳnh Thanh Hùng, the environment is always a hot issue in our country, so job opportunities are still very high. The important thing is that candidates like and are passionate about the profession to pursue it.
"Low admission scores do not mean fewer job opportunities. For example, the Forestry sector is currently very difficult to recruit students, but job opportunities are very large, with many provinces placing orders and inviting students, but still not meeting the quota," Mr. Hùng exemplified.
Previously, on July 17, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the high school graduation exam scores of more than 1 million candidates nationwide.
