On August 20, Ms. Dang Thi Hai Yen - Principal of Phan Chu Trinh Primary School (Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province) just signed a notice on class consolidation for students who do not register for Ismart.
In the 2023-2024 school year, class 3A has 5 students; Class 3B has 7 students and class 3D has 22 students who are not enrolled in Ismart.
In the 2024-2025 school year, the school will merge the 34 above students into a class that does not study Ismart, named class 4D.
According to the Principal's announcement, the re-dividing of classes is to facilitate the school's management and teaching as well as in accordance with the wishes of parents and students.
This information was shared on social networks and immediately received a lot of conflicting information. Many people believe that separating and consolidating classes will affect students' psychology, especially 4th graders.
Meanwhile, this is an elective subject that, according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, must be taught outside of regular school hours.
Previously, in the 2023-2024 school year, in Dak Lak, the implementation of the Ismart program was also involved in many "controversies". Many parents reported that many schools arbitrarily inserted this program into regular school hours.
