The Department of Education and Training of Bac Lieu province said that as of February 4, thousands of preschool children and students of all levels have not returned to school after the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.
Accordingly, 1,797 children were absent from preschools, 1,265 students were absent from primary schools, 717 students were absent from secondary schools, and 251 students were absent from high schools. For students of Continuing Education and Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers, there are also 218 students who have not returned to school.
The number of preschool children and students who have not yet gone to class is due to many reasons such as: illness, not being able to return home in time for Tet, family matters...
Currently, the Bac Lieu education sector is directing schools and localities to actively coordinate with local authorities and contact families to encourage students to return to class soon.
