Opening ceremony in the mountains and forests of Dakrong
On the morning of September 5, amidst the surrounding mountainous space, Dakrong Primary and Secondary Boarding School, Dakrong commune, Quang Tri province was bustling on the opening day of the 2026-2027 school year.
The school is located near the villages of the Van Kieu and Pa Co people, in the midst of a mountainous terrain, surrounded by mountains and forests. A place familiar with mountain winds, mountain clouds and harsh climatic conditions, this morning put on a completely different atmosphere when hundreds of students in new uniforms, many wearing traditional costumes, eagerly came to school.
From early morning, the schoolyard was already crowded with students, teachers and parents. The new yellow-painted buildings stand out against the green background of the mountains and forests. Students excitedly visit classrooms, corridors, functional areas; many parents lingered to watch their children enter the new spacious school.

For many Van Kieu and Pa Co ethnic families in the highlands of Dakrong, this year's opening day is of special significance. From villages scattered in the mountains and forests, their children have an additional place to study and live concentrated with more systematically invested facilities.
The opening and closing ceremony of the school was attended by Secretary of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Phuong, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, and representatives of departments, branches and local authorities. This is also the main bridge point of Quang Tri province in the 2026-2027 school year opening program.
Mr. Le Thanh Tung - Principal of Dakrong Primary and Secondary Boarding School said that this school year the school has 922 students, organizing 34 classes. In which, primary school has 22 classes with 512 students, secondary school has 12 classes with 410 students. The whole school has 403 boarding students and 519 semi-boarding students at noon.

According to Mr. Tung, the school has proactively consolidated its staff, arranged teachers at the main school site and satellite school sites, and developed a plan to organize teaching, accommodation, and student management right from the beginning of the school year.
The highlight of the opening day is the joy evident on students' faces when entering the new school area. For parents, the new school is not only spacious classrooms but also opens up more favorable learning and living conditions for children in mountainous areas.
