On the morning of June 3, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) held a conference to guide the work of considering the entrance exam for grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year.
According to the Department of Education and Training, at this year's 10th grade entrance exam, the whole city has 115,951 candidates registered to take the exam (including 102,860 candidates taking the non-professional public exam, 13,091 candidates taking the exam). The exam has 268 independent candidates.
The city has arranged 4,411 exam rooms, 201 reserve exam rooms; 201 exam locations in 30 districts, towns and cities.
With such a scale, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has mobilized 15,173 cadres, teachers, employees, and police to participate in organizing exams at exam locations and more than 2,000 cadres and teachers to participate in marking exams.
Attending the training conference on the professional aspects of exam preparation - entrance exam for grade 10 organized by the Department of Education and Training were fully present with Principals of high schools, Heads of Department of Education and Training of districts, towns; 201 test score leaders; 201 deputy test score leaders in charge of facilities; 258 technical support staff at the test sites.
The conference focused on guiding the work of exam supervision, training on security, safety and anti-fraud work through the use of high-tech equipment for exam preparation officers; at the same time, there was discussion and answering questions for exam questions for exam questions/deep scores and officers and staff during the exam preparation process.
The entrance exam for grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year will be held on June 7-8 (no-professional exam) and June 9 (professional exam). This is the first exam according to the 2018 General Education Program.
At exactly 9:00 a.m. on June 6, all candidates were present at the exam room to complete the exam procedures.
Candidates must take 3 subjects: Math, Literature and Foreign Language. In addition to English, candidates can choose any foreign language from the subjects of French, Japanese, German, and Korean to take the entrance exam to all high schools in the city while still being able to study the main foreign language, English.
The total admission score this year has been reduced from 50 to 30 due to not doubling the Math and Literature scores. In addition, the exam scores and the benchmark scores will be announced at the same time.
In this exam, Hanoi increased the rate of public 10th grade admissions to over 64% (an increase of more than 3% compared to 2024).
With careful, synchronous and proactive preparation, Hanoi is determined to organize the 10th grade exam to ensure safety, seriousness, transparency, objectivity, and quality, creating favorable conditions for candidates and parents in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Education and Training.
